Monique Young
Digital Illustrator
Hailing from the Bronx, Monique Young is now a New Jersey-based Illustrator creating colorful work that jogs the mind. She graduated from The High School of Art and Design and earned her BFA in Cartooning Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in 2009, creating digital pieces in a semi-realistic anime style.
The dream began when she discovered anime and manga in high school. Seeing the media enjoyed and accepted by all ages planted the curiosity to learn the craft of communicating through the art form.
Since 2009, Monique has shown work in multiple collaborations, like the 15th Anniversary Harlem Fine Arts Show and “Duality: Art is wellness” duo art show at Cafe Melo in New York. Currently, Monique is participating in Art House Production “In The Wind” a public installation supported by funding through the NJEDA’s A.R.T. – Phase II Grant Program in New Jersey. Currently, she’s working on a project called “Emotional Botany”, an illustration series about bringing awareness to Mental Health illness.
